Kamie has been down with the Flu since Saturday Oct 24th. She had to miss school for 4 days. She was okay during the time once she took her medicine, but once the medicine wears out, her fever came back. She recovered on Thursday and got to start back school on Friday.
She is really smart with the computer. She knows how to use everything on it, and anything I show her once, she remembers. I have a extra laptop that I allowed her to use. She knows how to start up the computer and open up the web browser by clicking the start menu and clicking to open Google Chrome. I set the website that I allow her to go on as the home page, so she can go on and play learning games. She really enjoy it. I need to find more websites which are kids friendly. She has known how to use youtube for about 1/2 year now, but I realized that youtube is not very kid-friendly. I need to find a better website with videos for kids.

Kamie's Birthday Party
Kamie had her birthday party at Pizza Hut in VA beach. She was happy at first, but then it seem like she got tired, because she seemed sleepy. She LOVED her Dora cake though, and as always love opening up presents afterwards. I got her a scooter. She loved riding it.

Kamie's 4th Birthday
For Kamie's 4th birthday, we went to Chucky Cheese. We had a blast. She played all the games and was definitely smarter since the last time we went to Chucky Cheese. We had a lot of fun and she went around and tired everything. She even drove the car games, and was not that bad at driving. SHe still drives like a 4 year old, but I can tell that she is way smarter now.
I did not give her the presents because her mom wanted them to be saved for her birthday party on saturday, but I wanted her to have something to play with, so I gave her the "hop ball" that I got for her. She hopped on it and had a great time. At first, she would fall off, but pretty soon, she got the hang of it. It was a lot of fun.

Kamie is about to start school!!!
Kamie is about to start school! I am pretty excited! She might have to change daycares though, because the school bus does deliver to her daycare. I hate when she have to change daycares, because she has been changing too much recently. She got settled into this one and I REALLY like them. They give a note at the end of every day explaining exactly what she did that day and what they are doing the next day. She is finally at a daycare that I really like how they teach her.
Last week, we went jetsking, she had a blast. She didnt want to come back. I LOVE how she loves water too. We went in Norfolk. It was my first time at that ramp, but I really like the setup. There are lots of boats and other jetskis there, so I felt safe if something were to happen. We rode far out, but keeping the speed down, since she was on it. We rode over to the tunnel, rode to the Norfolk Naval base to look on the battle ships, rode all over. It was so much fun. We came back and started doing tricks. She loves when the water sprays. She is such a adventure junkie too.
We went kite flying on Wednesday at Mt Trashmore in VA Beach. It was a lot of fun. She loves flying the kite.
I have a ton of pictures I need to put up and a few videos as well.

Father's day
Today, Kamie wanted to go outside and play ball. I think she learned to catch now. Before, every time I throw the ball she would only catch it when I am lucky enough for it to not fall through her hands or bounce out, but she went on a roll catching it most of the time. It was a foot ball sized beach ball, so hopefully with some more practice she can learn to catch better and more eye control watching the ball when it comes to her.
The best time was when, we came back inside and got icey pops and went back outside and sat on the curb at the back of my apartment sucking it in the shade. It was so much fun to just sit there relaxing and enjoying the breeze. It reminds me if the days me and my cousins would sit in a tree and just talk, enjoying the breeze over looking the river. This was my very first relaxing day since summer started. Today was just fun and relaxing. I still have to figure out how to get Kamie to eat. WHen she eats, she doesnt eat a lot, and when she is hungry, she is just SUPER miserable, and want to cry for everything. Man, its hard work figuring her out.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Tomrrow!
I am excited! I carried Kamie to Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey last year, and everyday she stills remembers it. I am taking her tomorrow again! I am super excited! I want to go early so that she can play with the animals and stuff.
I have been trying to see kamie for a while now, but it keep on not working out. I miss her so much. She was supposed to come over tonight, but that didn't work out. My time with her is going to be short tomorrow :(

Church today
We went to church today. I was so good. We had a great time. Shen is mad that i told her to go to the other church first. I love this church, but I thought I'd introduce her to the other one first. She is now mad that she didn't know about this church before. Kamie had a good time. I wish my camera wasn't broke, I would have more pictures. We met a lot of Jamaicans at Church. It was a pretty good day. Lots of people invited us that we can have lunch with them sometime.
WATERSIDE
After church, we drove by the waterside. We stopped at a fishing/beach pier and we went out. Kamie was SUPER excited and she started running all over the place playing. She LOVES water and she really wanted to go into the water. I told her it was cold, but she still wanted to go. We spent some time relaxing, then we decided to walk out to the pier. Kamie wanted to run, so I told her to keep on the concrete and not go on the grass, which leads to the water. She is very obedient. We went out to the pier, but Shen got cold, so she stopped and didn't go on. Kamie on the other hand, I was afraid she would get cold, so I kept telling her that we have to go back now because the breeze is too cold, but she insist that she was not cold, despite cold bumps coming up on her. That is how much she loves water.lol. On our way back, someone was walking their dog, so Kamie wanted to be lifted up because she didn't want to get 'bit'. We stopped and talked with the girl with the dog for a little while. She was from Washington State, so she was loving this weather, because it was still freezing up there. She seem to be walking with another lady with 2 kids in a double stroller and another girl who later came on. We eventually walked back to the car with them.
We then continued our ride along the beach front to home. When we got home, we made lunch, which was left over from Friday dinner. Shen wanted to sleep, and I wanted to sleep as well. I promised Kamie that if she ate her food, we could go riding her tricycle outside though. Despite me wanting to sleep, I decided to go with her.
RIDING TRICYCLE and Playing ball
She was VERY excited to go riding. I do not think she has ever gotten to go riding long like that before, because it has been cold. I had the beach ball and we rode around my apartment building a few times. We then rode around the back, all over the place. We went to ever building in the apartment, to the water etc. Kamie went and picked flowers and put on her tricycle. It was fun. I started bouncing the ball and having her ride to go get it and come back.
We later stopped and started playing with the small ball which she has under her tricycle seat. I started throwing it for her to catch, she throw it for me, we played all the games we could think of. When she was finally tired, we went and she rode some more. We rode all the way to the end of the apartment, where it meets the water and we stop again, while she breaks sticks and throw them in the water. After a while, we decided to go back. We decided we would have a race, so I walked as fast as I could and she pedaled as fast as she could, man, she can ride REALLY fast. We made it back in no time. We then rode around some more, then finally went up. We were probably outside for about 3 hours.
When we went inside, we relaxed a little, then Shen realized that she had to go back to hang out with her friends for their birthday, so me and Kamie took her back to her dorm. We came back and played with her flash cards some more.
FARM VISIT
On Sunday, we planned to go to see the farm animals. I woke up about 8, but I didnt wake up Kamie until about 10, then we made pancakes as usual. She LOVES pancakes. We then got ready and went to pick up Shen and then went to the farm. I was happy to go, because last week we went, and she was warming up to them. She was not afraid this time. We went and she went up to the turkeys and started watching them. The only time she got scared with the turkeys was when we were walking away and one of them came up to the fence and gave a loud gobble and frightened her. We then went to look on the ducks, then she was excited to go over to the Pony. She went up to him. but he walked away. We walked around, and we got to go to all the animals. She still did not get to touch any animals and she was still scared. The last animal we visited was the Lama. We went up to him, but she was stiffening up, and wanted me to lift her up. Luckily a family came by with feedings and each of them took turns to have him eat the feedings out of her hand. By the end of the day, she says that next time, she will be willing to let him eat out of her hand. Hopefully this will put out her fear that the animals are going to bite her.
We then went to the playground. I went over to the swing, but she stared acting up. She didn't want to go in the swing, and wanted to go in the kiddies swing. She started fussing, so I told her that we were going to go, but she didn't want to go either. Eventually Shen went over to her and took her back. We went to the grown children slide, but she didn't want to go on. Everything, she wanted me to go on first. I was disappointed that she didn't want to acting fussy. We went over to the kiddies slide and I went up the ladder and she now wanted to follow me. She want me to do everything with her. I did not want her to depend on me like that, but I went ahead with it anyway. We stared climbing and jumping, and finally she went on the slide. After that, we went over to the better play area now, the the larger slides. She started with the smallest slid on this, and again she started acting fussy. She worked her way up to the middle slide though and then she got enough courage to go to the largest long tunnel slide. I was a little worried that this one was a little fast for her, but man, after she went down it, she had a HUGE smile on her face. She was laughing and she got out and ran around and ran back up to join the line again. She went again and again and again. Pretty soon, I was ready to go, but man, each time she slide, she wanted to slide again. It was after a long time I got her to promise me that it was the last time, and I promised her that I would take her back next week. She came down happy, playing and singing. We went back to the car, and then I took her back to her mom.
I need to get my camera fixed so that I can start taking pictures again. I got pictures with my cell phone, but its not the same like a real camera.

I Love You Kamie
Boy, she is growing up so fast. She is getting taller and taller everyday. Pretty soon I wont be able to throw her up all over the place like I do. Looking back on the pictures, I can see how much she grew since the first few blogs. She is so smart now. I just need to foster her mind so that she can get the correct upbringing to develop her brain to be above average and smart.
Well, we are planning to go to church tomorrow. I guess I need to get some sleep if I am going to get up in time.

Kamie's visit to the Farm to see animals
Things to write about:
-Visit to farm - overcoming her fear that animals are going to bite her
-No seizures, was probably previous daycare treating her badly
-negative test results
-a whole lot smarter
-A normal kid, which I want to be the best she can be, so I aim to push her and identify areas in which she can improve and grow stronger
-obedient

Kamie in SC
Kamie has been in SC since two weeks now. She went down the weekend of March 7th. She should hopefully be back next week. It has been a long time. I hope that she does not get psychologically traumatized from it because she might need some security in her environment, and I think that has been what was contributing to her 'seizure scares' that we were having. Man, I wish things were different.
Anyway, here are some pics from the around the time when she was in the hospital.

Kamie's EEG Electric brain activity monitor
Kamie has her EEG today at 10am 3/3/2009 to measure the electric activity of the brain using electrode sensors. I think pretty soon she will be afraid of hospitals. When the nurse came out to call her to go back into the room, she started crying and didnt want to go in the room. I had to lift her up and take her back, even then she was still fussing, and didnt want to sit on the bed. It got even worse when we were trying to get her to lie down. I guess it is common for them to strap the child down, because they had the straps on the bed and wrapped her in the strapping blanket, closing her arms down. She started wailing, eventually I remembered that she would stop with watching cartoon, so I gave her Dora to watch on my phone and then she slowed down crying until she stopped. The nurse worked to put the electrodes in her head while she watch youtube. When the nurse was finished, I told her that I was going outside to get my backpack and she says that I can just wait outside and she will call me when it is finished....so, now I wait.

Air and Space Museum & Underwater 3D IMAX movie
Feb 28, 2009- Roopie, Shen and Kamie went to Virginia Air and Space Museum in Hampton, VA. We went to the IMAX theater seeing Underwater 3D movie, which was a movie about exploring underwater fishes where we got to wear 3D glasses. We arrived there 2:30 for the 3pm showing, so we went in the museum to tour. Kamie was VERY afraid of most of the planes and space ships there. I was disappointed because I wanted her to have fun learning about this stuff. We only spent 15 minutes, then wen had to go join the line to go see the movie. Once again, Kamie was acting up. She did not want to wear the 3D glasses and it was about 7 minutes into the movie before I got to put my glasses over her eyes and she realize that the movie was in 3D with the glasses. I Expected the movie to explore more of the beautiful underwater, but there were some scenes where they showed a fish swimming by and another just snaps them up in a split second. She got scared during those scenes. I had to cover her eyes during some of the scenes like the shark. She eventually got the hang of things and realized how cool 3D underwater was. At one point, she was asking me if we could move to sit in the seat behind us. I guess she thought the sea snakes were really coming too close to us because she wanted to move back further. She was very happy watching the move and the ending, they had 3D bubbles blowing, and she was catching after the bubbles, because they looked so real.
When we came out of the theater, she was happy, so went went to tour the museum again. This time she was VERY happy. She was running up to everything, playing with all the cool stuff. We looked at all the planes and the boats. We even got to go into a full Air Tran plane and went into the seats and into the cockpit and such. She got very comfortable with the plane. I wanted her to be familiar so that when we go to Jamaica she is not scared of the plane. She played with all the air planes and she ran to all the cool stuff and played with them. I tried to teach her, but she just wanted to play with stuff. I guess when she is older she can learn more.

Kamie possible siezure
Feb 26, 2009 I got a call on Thursday saying that Kamie's daycare thought she had a seizure. I went to the hospital in VA Beach with her and her mom. When I finally got there, she was happy to see me and it would appear as if she is normal. After the doctor came in, he checked her out and then called the daycare to find out what happen to her. He says that what they describe seem to be a seizure. and he would have to do a cat-scan to see what is going on. First they had to take blood from her. This was very hard for her, and I had to hold her down and let them take the blood. Then, they had to get a heart monitor on it. She cooperated more for this one as they put heart monitors all around her heart and on her arms and feet.
We stayed a long time at the hospital trying to convince kamie to do the cat scan, however she was very afraid of the machine. Every time she went back there, she would cry and not want to stay still in the machine. They tried to take it one time, but she would not stay still and the picture came out blurry. They tried a second time and again, she did not stay still, and the picture came out blurry. We made about 4-5 more unsuccessful attempts at getting her to do it willingly. It was a futile attempt and finally, at around 9pm, we decided to sedate her. That again was a pain, as she did not want to take the medicine mixed in apple sauce. She ate the first spoon and spit it out. After that, they decided to use a syringe in her mouth. That was a pain to get her still and able to take it. We had to hold her down and stop her nose. Finally she swallowed it, but again she spit out some of it. The medicine started to work, however it just made her look drunk and act silly, but it did not put her to sleep. After waiting for 1 hr trying to get her to sleep we gave up and they doctors decided to just starp her down to a board and strap her still. Her mom went with her, I knew it would be a traumatic experience for her, but it had to be done. Her mom came back mad as hell. She says that the guy was actin like a boot camp to her, shouting at her. I would have been mad too, but we had been at the hospital for over 7 hrs and she would not want to do it, so I was happy that it was finally done. THen, it was another long waiting for the results to come back.
Finally the doctor came back and said the cat scan was negative and everything was good. The next step though is to get her a EEG Brain Scan. We would have to schedule that the next day with pediatrician. I took the day off work to stay with Kamie and get it done. The neurologist was booked up and the first available appointment was Tuesday, March 3rd, so now we have to wait for that appointment. I do not know how that is going to go, because she is very afraid of those machines. Hopefully I can convince her that it is okay.
She has always had times when she just ignores me, I always assume that she gets mad very easily because she just zones out in her own world. Since this experience, I am now more aware of her and I realize that she does it a lot. I hope that it is nothing wrong with her brain and she is just getting mad a lot. I hope that all of those times when she does it, she is not actually having a seizure. I will have to wait and see. This sucks....

Visit Laton and Alex
Feb 13-15, Roopie, Shen and Kamie went to Laton's house in West Virginia. Alex and is wife was coming from Cincinnati, OH to visit us. This is the second time seeing Alex since graduation in 2004. It was a very fulfilling weekend again for Kamie to spend time with all my friends. She was VERY afraid of the Jenn's cats. She would literally run up on me crying tears. I really want her to come out of being so fearful, because there are lots of animals in Jamaica and we will not be able to control them as much as we did in the house.
